The HRPA registration is on an annual basis and runs from June 1st to May 31st, and you can join at any time.

The HRPA ensures that our 23,000+ members and students have the most up-to-date tools and advanced skills to lead our workplaces into the future. We regulate HR professionals in the public interest. Our members and students are held to high standards, so Ontario workplaces can trust us to help unlock business growth and optimize employee potential.

Dues are pro-rated on a monthly basis, so you only ever pay for the number of months remaining until the next May 31st, at which point you would need to renew to continue your registration. For example: If you join in January, your registration is valid from January to May. You must renew by May 31 to continue your registration or submit a completed resignation form if you do not wish to remain part of the HRPA.

The first step in the registration process is for you to complete the online application, pay your registration dues, and submit any supporting documentation, if applicable. Your application will then be reviewed by HRPA – that process usually takes between 5–10 business days. If your application is deemed complete – meaning you have met the Good Character requirement and all applicable supporting documentation has been received – we will send you a confirmation email and add you to HRPA’s Public Register.
