About HRPA

Today’s human resource leaders face seismic changes in the world of work, from advancements in AI to the challenge of talent scarcity. HR is taking centre stage, and HR professionals are being called upon to be resilient, skilled, and strategic leaders capable of guiding workplaces and workforces into the future.

The Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) regulates and supports over 23,000 professionals and students so they can evolve in this rapidly changing landscape, lead their organizations in effective HR practice, and make an impact—driving economic growth, elevating talent, and creating safe workplaces wherever they are.

Our goals are to:

  • Promote and protect the public interest by governing and regulating the practice of our members.
  • Support our members through continuous improvement and best-in-class learning opportunities.
  • Elevate the HR profession.
  • Support networking and peer collaboration between members of the HR community and broader economic stakeholders.,

At the HRPA, we emphasize technology, innovation, and continuous improvement to power the highest calibre of HR leadership in Ontario and beyond.

What We Do

We protect the public by setting standards for human resource professionals and offering guidance to our registrants in areas of risk. When a person is interacting with an HRPA registrant, that person can be assured that the HRPA registrant has committed to upholding the Code of Ethics and Rules of Professional Conduct.

We foster a vibrant community of tens of thousands of professionals dedicated to elevating HR to meet their businesses’ changing needs. Members attend events (including the largest gathering of HR professionals in the country), network with peers, and enjoy rewarding mentorships.

We provide best-in-class professional development opportunities to help HR leaders develop the advanced skills needed to lead in today’s constantly evolving workplaces.

We publish the news, articles, and insights that shape the HR profession. We deliver the latest information, thought leadership, and legislative insights to arm our members for the future of work.

The HRPA offers professional designations to enhance trust and professional reputation, elevate the roles of HR professionals, and facilitate higher compensation.

Our robust regulatory framework enables members and students to drive positive change and lead Ontario’s workplaces into the future with integrity and excellence. We receive and respond to complaints about HRPA registrants.
